In the nature of things

Summer 2021 is the Summer of RVing. So many people are out an about in their various trailers/campers/motorhomes, and campsites are harder to find. This has provided me with the thrill of the hunt, aaaand also means we're not able to stay in one place for a week or two (or more!) as often as we'd like. Lots of moving around.

Huge bright side - we've been to several gorgeous campgrounds/areas, and I've gotten to see some of my favorite people. I'm definitely testing my "which is better, woods or ocean" preferences. Where do you fall on the water/woods spectrum? I mean for me, obviously the answer - as it so often is - is both.

The big news this week is "In the Wings" - a 4HU anthology of previously-secondary characters taking center stage. It's the first anthology with all six core authors contributing a story, with another 9 fantabulous authors joining us. Much is revealed, more is hinted at, and the shadow of things to come looms large.

Word from the advance team is overwhelmingly positive (hooray!) and you can get your own copy TOMORROW.

Then, next week, to scratch that 80's-video-game-itch (shhh, that's a thing!), "Starflight: Tales from the Starport Lounge" arrives into the world.

Another compilation of fantastic authors took their own spin through an expansive universe, and I can't wait to hear what you think!

I'm about to run off to the ocean before Tropical Storm Elsa brushes past, so there's more nature (in all its lovely/terrifying glory) in my near future. RV life is definitely upping my outside time (and number of sunburns. details), which does seem to be boosting my creativity.

I have four short stories and about 150k words in novel-ing to get done over the next two months, so ultimately you'll get to be the judge of my nature-creativity correlation.

Ok, nature, and meeting up with awesome, awesome people. Pictured above is my recent lunch with the ever-fabulous crew of Kacey Ezell, Chris Kennedy, and Sheellah Kennedy. RV life equals nature, amazing company, and (often) v. v. delicious food.

If that doesn't boost creativity, I don't know what does!
